Any ideas from anyone else on what to do? I am running Windows 7 (64 bit) on a HPTouchSmart 520 PC.The Quick Steps To Resolve The Printer Issues I have the HP installation utility on a laptop running BitDefender 2012 and the printer works just fine including all advanced features on the printer. If I go into control panel and add the printer from the Add Printer method, I am then able to print to the printer, but the other functions I use regularly such as scan to computer and maintenance functions do not work (HPNetworkCommunicator.exe again). I have set up the Firewall settings as recomended by the sticky note in this forum. I have given HPNetworkCommunicator.exe application permission to access the internet. Once BitDefender 2013 is reinstalled, the problem returns.

After uninstalling BitDefender 2013, the printer installs fine. Shutting down the firewall has no effect on the problem.

Killing this process in task manager results in an error in the HP setup utility that the printer cannot be found and the setup can then be closed, but no printer is installed.
